EFFECTIVE SKILLS FOR SUCCESSFUL FEDERAL RECRUITERS - Part 3

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) cordially invites you to join us for the third of a three-part webinar series on “Effective Skills for Successful Federal Recruiters.”

Everyone knows that Federal recruiters must possess technical knowledge and skills necessary to attract and recruit potential candidates for Federal jobs. That includes knowledge of recruitment-specific Federal laws and regulations, hiring flexibilities, veterans’ preference, USAJOBS, and specific programs such as Pathways and others.

However, success also depends on recruiters acquiring the relevant “soft” skills vital to interacting with talent sources and job seekers in the course of the recruitment cycle.  Soft skills include attributes such as communication, collaboration, decision-making, problem solving, motivation (self and others), flexibility (adapting to different situations), networking and interaction between individuals and groups, and organization and time management.

Join an OPM representative for practical guidance and tips on effective recruitment skills.

The series is being offered in three sessions on three separate days. Each session is 90 minutes, including a Q&A period. You may attend any of the sessions but you must register separately for each individual session.

Part 3 - Find Your Ideal Candidate, will cover the following:

Skillfully Interact with Job Seekers

- Gain tips on interacting with job seekers at job fairs and networking events- Know how to coordinate information sessions, be interesting, and impress participants- Understand the importance of staying in regular contact with job seekers.

Evaluate Your Results

- Understand the importance of using data to evaluate the results of your recruitment efforts, including success at job fairs, information sessions, and other events- Learn about techniques and resources for searching, compiling, analyzing, and using fundamental data to improve on strategic recruitment for your positions.
